THE INSTRUCTOR

The journey on how I got to where I am today began in 2003, practicing yoga at home in the comfort of my living room while following along to several different yoga DVDs .  I immediately noticed a physical and mental change, and found a great sense of calmness and relaxation after every session.  I welcomed the practice with open arms and learned the basics along with the power of meditation.

I travelled abroad to Taiwan in 2004-2006, during which I attended my first group yoga class.  My struggle with anxiety of being out of my "comfort zone" was something that held me back from attending group yoga classes in the past, but I pushed past my anxiety and joined the class and fell in love immediately!  I found the energy contagious and the other participants to be extremely patient and welcoming.  I knew at this moment - my first group class - that yoga needed to be a permanent part of my life.

After returning home to Canada, I continued to practice yoga.  In 2014, I decided to start my journey to becoming a Registered Yoga

Instructor.  I have completed the Basic Beginner training class at Namaskar Yoga Studio in Saskatoon where I received my Certification as a Basic Beginner Yoga Instructor.  I began teaching immediately after receiving my Certification, and have now been teaching yoga for two years.  My classes have varied from teaching one on one, to teaching as many as 20 participants! In March, 2016 I completed my training for Specific Groups and received my Certification.  Specific Groups includes Chair Assisted, yoga for sports (ie. yoga for golfers), and also Yoga for Kids!

I am continuing my studies and training into 2017 and I am planning to complete the 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Program.  This will allow me to instruct all levels of yoga, some of which are Intermediate, Advanced and Meditation.

Teaching and practicing yoga continuously for over a year has since helped my anxiety, as well as a variety of other health conditions with myself and others, some of which include sinusitis, back pain, migraines, sciatica, etc. .
